My art is about the exploration of visual surroundings. Not being a good communicator, I found drawing as a way to express myself. Drawing was an exercise in copying that enabled me to learn how to see. The more I would draw, the better I was able to see the world around me. I began to realize that I wasn't able to show certain intangible things such as gesture, feeling, and mood in my work. With my art, I am looking to capture that intangible aspect of the subject whether it is the gesture of a figure or the mood of a landscape. I searching for that intangible variable that one cannot just copy. Rather one needs to sense or feel it.

  1. Dave,

I finally visited your site. You are truly an amazing and very gifted artist. Keep creating...I can see how your work comes from deep within. I really enjoyed viewing it. Please let me know when are where you are exhibiting.

  2. Dave, It's been a while since I've had a chance to see your art and I was reminded today that you truely are a gifted artist. Your work is so expressive and powerful, full of motion and energy. I just love it! Keep on producing. Eileen

  3. This is solid meat-and-potatoes-stick-to-your-ribs-in-your-face-straight-to-the-heart-you-just-can't-ignore-it-no-bullshit ART!! Thanks for reinforcing my belief that there are those of us who see clearly and a very few, such as you, who can express it with startling clarity, concise line, shape and form and an obvious joy. Your sculpture is creepy and disturbing in a very, very good way,as if (and I am certain of this) you have basement access to elemental forces of human miniaturization. Your drawings.... I want your drawings!!!! I am certain that in the future, if not not now, art-critic wannabes will drape you with effete interpretation. Ignore them and keep on kickin' ass.

  4. I always thought you were great, but not fantastic. Keep up the great great work!

  5. David!

Glad I finally made it here. You have a strong unique voice, very powerful stuff. Forms in flux. Re: the Bridges, a Philadelphia Piranesi, perhaps? I especially enjoyed the Biomechanical Figure. Reshaping the elements of life to your own vision.

    Cheers,

    Anders
